The West Gippsland Cricket Association has organized a competition for Females over the last four years. Starting from a Grant to Grow Girls Cricket we developed teams to play Junior Formats one. Subsequently this has grown so that those players with more experience have been able to play Junior Formats two with a leather ball and bowling over 18 metres.

 

The WGCA has worked with its neighbour, Dandenong, and District, to provide a larger number of teams in a combined competition. As each Association grows its cohort the aim is to provide stand alone groups. In the future it may be that local female cricket feeds into a Premier competition by aligning with Casey South Melbourne Cricket Club or Dandenong.
